India to play Syria on 26 December

In a build up to Asia Cup 2011 India will play friendly match against West Asian team Syria in Dubai.

Both the teams will look to use this match as preparation for the the main tournament.

India has played Syria 4 times in last 3 years having won twice and losing twice.

Indian Super Cup on 1 Dec

Indian Super Cup tie between I-League 2010 Champions Dempo SC and Federation Cup 2010 winners East Bengal FC will take place on December 1,2010.

AIFF will also distribute the awards and cash prizes of last year winners.

The match will take place in Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex,Gurgaon instead of New Delhi due to clash of fixtures with Subroto Youth Cup.

India lose 1-0 to UAE Second Division club

India went down to Fujairah Sports Club by a solitary goal in a practice match played at the Fujairah Stadium, Fujairah on Wednesday evening.

Rocked by injuries, India failed to get the services of their star strikers Bhaichung Bhutia and Sunil Chhetri, while the latest addition to the injury list was center-back Anwar.

Both the teams failed to break the jinx in the opening half as stalemate prevailed over the first forty-five minutes. After the break, the hosts scored the winner in the 69th minute to register a 1-0 victory over the Bob Houghton-coached side.

India will take on Hatta Sports Club in another practice match to be held on Saturday, November 27.

Pune Football Club, going a step ahead in bringing football closer to the people, is all set to launch its very own web channel with an aim to reach out to all football lovers and PFC fans.

PFC Headlines, which shall bring weekly highlights about the activities happening at the club, FAN-tastic, a monthly program which will give a fan a chance to spend a day with the team, Gladiators, a program which shall showcase player profiles and upcoming talent, and 90 Minutes of Magic, covering every game played by the team, it’s highlights and post- match comments.

Yemen Football Team Arrive

Yemen National Football Team have arrived in Pune on 10,Oct.The 107 ranked nation are all set to take on 160 ranked India in Pune,Belwadi Sports Complex.

Yemen team will  probably consist of the same players who recently played in their successful WAFF Championship campaign and  will look to continue the same form and prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers next year.
